Plot |
This star-studded adaptation of Oscar Wilde's classic comedy is full of charm and remains the definitive version of his work. Jack and Algernon are two wealthy bachelors. Jack is in love with Gwendolen, while Algernon is attracted to Jack's ward Cecily. Not surprisingly, complication arises as each of the girls think they are engaged to Ernest (who doesn't exist), and to complicate things further, Gwendolen's mother Lady Bracknell arrives. |
